Liberty Construction completed the 2,820 square foot buildout of McLean Eye Physicians and Surgeons, a comprehensive ophthalmology practice owned by Dr. Mehrak Marzban, a board-certified ophthalmologist and Northern Virginia native who returned home to open his own office. Our team delivered this McLean, Virginia medical office buildout in Fairfax County on a tight schedule, starting construction in January 2026 and passing final inspections in late April 2026. This was roughly a fifteen week turnaround from commencement to substantial completion.

A Fast-Track Ophthalmology Buildout in McLean

This project was a commercial tenant improvement in an existing McLean office building, which required careful coordination with the landlord and the property’s base building systems. Liberty Construction began with selective demolition of the existing suite, then framed the new floor plan with metal stud and gypsum board partitions to full ceiling height. This included the demising and corridor walls that define the practice layout.
Maintaining a fifteen week schedule on a healthcare facility required tight subcontractor coordination. Our superintendents kept the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical trades moving in parallel so the diagnostic and exam spaces were ready for equipment installation on time.

Building Around the Diagnostic and Surgical Program

An ophthalmology office is built around its clinical program, and the floor plan reflects that. Liberty Construction framed and finished a series of eye exam lanes, a dedicated diagnostic and imaging room, a pre-testing area, and a minor procedure room, along with reception and a business office at the front of the suite. Each exam lane carried specific requirements for controlled lighting and sight lines for visual acuity testing, so our team coordinated the electrical rough-in, dedicated circuits, and low-voltage cabling for the ophthalmic equipment supplied through Marco / Lombart. Washington Plumbing handled the plumbing rough-in for the clinical sinks and ADA compliant restroom, and our electrical subcontractor completed the panel work and lighting rough-in for the full suite.

Finishes, Millwork, and Glazing

Z-Dimensional led the interior design, and Liberty Construction executed the finish package across the practice. This included suspended acoustical ceilings, resilient and carpet flooring zoned by use, painted gypsum walls, and LED lighting throughout.
Burger’s Cabinets fabricated and installed the custom millwork, including the reception desk, exam lane casework, and back-of-house cabinetry. Executive Glass provided the storefront and interior glazing, bringing daylight into the waiting area and framing the entrance. The result is a clean, professional clinical environment that supports the comprehensive eye care Dr. Marzban provides to patients across McLean and Northern Virginia.

Bringing McLean Eye Physicians and Surgeons to Life

Liberty Construction was proud to build Dr. Marzban’s first practice and help bring a new ophthalmology office to McLean, Virginia.
From demolition through final inspection, Liberty Construction served as general contractor on this Fairfax County medical office buildout, delivering a finished healthcare facility ready for patients in spring 2026.
