ATTITUDE EN POINTE

Corina Luzuriaga

Bethesda, MD

Contractor: Liberty Construction

Architect: Liberty Construction

Liberty Construction completed this commercial tenant improvement for Attitude en Pointe, a ballet studio at the Shops of Wisconsin in downtown Bethesda, Maryland. The project converted a third-floor retail suite in Montgomery County into a three-studio dance facility for founder Corina Luzuriaga.

The centerpiece of this Bethesda buildout was the flooring. We installed Harlequin sprung wood dance floors in all three studios, a multi-layer system built on custom machined southern yellow pine with shock-absorbing elastomer blocks, moisture-resistant suspension board, and the Harlequin vinyl performance surface on top. Common areas received standard vinyl flooring throughout.

We framed three separate studios and installed wood-framed tempered glass doors with matching glass side lights at each entrance, giving the space an open, light-filled feel while maintaining sound separation between rooms. Six-foot-tall mirrors line the studio walls. Additional scope included HVAC reconfiguration, new electrical, emergency lighting, ceiling repairs, and a full repaint in light pastel tones.

On the exterior, we installed a new illuminated channel letter sign on the building facade to complete the studio's street presence in downtown Bethesda.

Liberty Construction delivered this DMV area commercial tenant improvement in early 2022. We enjoyed working with the Luzuriaga family on this Bethesda, Maryland project.
